I recently used a travel agent for the first time, and despite hearing some horror stories, I decided to give Sam and Monique a try based on a trusted recommendation. I’m a last-minute person, particular about the smallest details, and often disappear due to my busy schedule. So, I was a bit apprehensive enlisting the help but I knew I needed it.
Sam and Monique were nothing short of amazing! I needed to book a Disney cruise for my daughter’s 6th birthday, which was just two weeks away. I had already promised her the trip, so it had to happen! When I first told Sam the date, he thought I meant next year. When I clarified it was in two weeks, he paused, said he’d call me back, and then worked his magic.
He quickly arranged everything: flights, hotel accommodations, SeaWorld park tickets, shuttle service to the port, and even an upgraded room with party decorations. He put together a detailed itinerary so there was no guessing about where we needed to be and when. I was thoroughly impressed!
I can’t thank Sam and Monique enough for their outstanding service. I would like to express my gratitude to Simmons Cruise Planners and Mr. Newland from Ghana for organizing such a memorable trip. Our tour guide, Solomon, and driver, Abeiku, were both very friendly and personable. As we visited each township, Solomon shared with us the rich history of each place, and even challenged us to complete the Kakum Canopy Walkway in Kahum National Park. The Kahum treetops were beautiful. It was a lot of fun, and I was surprised to discover that it had been on my bucket list all along. Solomon made sure that we were all safe and insisted that we stay together as a group.
During our trip, we visited many places, including the Elmina Castle and the Ancestral River Park. Walking down the same path that my ancestors did, I felt their presence, and it was an incredibly moving experience. We participated in the Ancestral Naming Ceremony, which was amazing. We also had the opportunity to participate in the Penyi Nugorziya Festival, where we danced and observed the celebration. We even had the pleasure of meeting the King of Penyi during a dinner. The food was delicious and full of flavor.
Throughout our trip, we stayed at three different hotels: Alisa North Ridge, located in the city of Accra, Coconut Grove Beach Resort, located Elimina. The scenery of the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean was breathe taking. The Sunflower Hotel located Dzodze was nested in the mountains. While I would recommend the first two, I would not recommend Sunflower Hotel.
Overall, this was my first trip to Ghana, and it was truly an experience of a lifetime. Alisa Hotel is beautiful, workers were very helpful and accommodating
-Tour of Accra was informative and educational. -Way too much down time and sitting around.
-Thought the longer trip would include more tours, not less! (River tour, Castle, Museum etc.)
- Afrikiko River Resort, beautiful facility, not sure the purpose of being there.
-No participation in making Cedi beads, not enough time.

I enjoyed my trip to Ghana. This trip was more rustic than I expected. I would suggest to include hiking boots for safari trip and the national park. I would have appreciated a little more assistance with my dietary needs. The naming ceremony was an experience that I won’t forget.. The dressmakers were cordial, I like my outfit. It was wonderful to experience the ceremonies. I plan on making the trip again. I enjoyed my trip to Ghana. This trip was more rustic than I expected. An amazing family trip with amazing travel agents! Mr. and Mrs. Simmons took care of my mom and I before, during and after the cruise! Made sure we knew about all the deals, made sure we had transportation to and from the port, reserved dinner in the main dining room for us, and treated us even while we were on the ship! Traveled to Niagra Falls on a mini vacation planned and organized by Simmons Cruise Planners. I didn't stress about details because I have traveled with this gentleman before. We had an awesome tour, a fantastic boat ride and a variety of meals all while staying in a safe and secure hotel in an accessible area. I will use Cruise Plannets again as soon as possible. This was a cruise planned in a two month time frame but I saw a deal online and sent this to the Simmons to set me up.. They gave me all the details and I was setting sail in no time at all.. Carnival Sensation is a nice ship and we had alot of fun. The activities were fun and the entire ship was ready to have a good time from day 1. We set sail on my bday ,so when my husband and I walked into our room we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine, freshly baked cookies and chocolate covered strawberries. I was also given a $50 gift card towards a massage, which I did indulge in. I would say that I wouldn't stay on the 4th floor again.. Way too close to the engine and those waves..lol but that was my decision to stay within my budget. Mr. and Mrs. Simmons, This was my first cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line. It turned out to be one of my best (besides your July 2018 cruise) . The ship was quite large which I am not accustomed to but I was able to navigate and find my way. The room was a little small but very efficient and well maintained. We had a variety of dining rooms to have our meals in addition to a large buffet. We saw a variety of top notch shows and entertainment. Thank you for hearing exactly what we needed for a safe and relaxing vacation. You do not disappointment, your eye to detail is commendable. Thank you again, until my next vacation with you. I traveled for the first time with Cruise Planners (Sam and Monique) on a Carnival Cruise on July 21, 2018. I have traveled frequently and have not experienced the focus on details that I experienced with Cruise Planners. It was a group of over 30 persons and there was never any confusion or mix-ups.
Sam and Monique made themselves available if we had any questions before, during and after we returned from the cruise. They helped with suggestions on choosing excursions and on-board activities. These are the qualities that make a vacation memorable and I truly appreciated it.
I would recommend Cruise Planners to anyone looking to have an unforgettable vacation and I will travel with them sooner rather than later.

Hello Sam and Monique,
Traveling to South Africa was a "trip of a lifetime," and I am trying to hold on to all the sights and sounds and the feelings that I encountered and cement these memories into my mind. This trip heightened my senses and made me feel more alive. Now, I find myself missing South Africa, a country where I only spent 10 days, yet I long for the connection I felt in that land. I close my eyes and see in my mind's eye the beautiful expansive scenery, the giraffes standing majestically on the hillside, the elephants eating from the tree and the warthogs scrambling across the road. I try to hold on to the connection I felt to this beautiful creation of ours.

Hi, Sam and Monique,
We had a great trip on the Escape. It really exceeded our expectations. Thank you for the heads up on the mini suite. It was perfect. Every request we had was answered with “Yes.”
The restaurants were great ( better than we have in this part of the state.) We liked Tepanyaki, La Cucina, Moderno. Taste and O’Sheehans, while not specialty restaurants were quite good, also. Bayamón was a disappointment. I think that they are switching from one concept to another, and they don’t have it together yet.
We saw a few shows, and enjoyed time on the Waterfront. Gemma snagged time in a hot tub by herself (early riser.) Horseshoe Bay was the best swimming, and we stopped in at St George and Hamilton. Thanks for the bonus bucks.
We skipped the pool (crowded), we did not arrive early enough to snag tickets for that private area you mentioned. No biggie. Never did a supper club. There’s plenty to do.
Our travel in and out of NYC on Amtrak was super easy, and taking a cab in the city on Sunday morning was a breeze. We skipped staying an extra night (too hot!) and came home and went swimming.
I could recommend this trip to anyone, and I really feel that with the extra drink and dining options, it was a very good value. This ship was full. It is so massive that it absorbs the crowd, and except for a few places, it was serene. The last couple days passengers were all saying how happy they were.

Hi Sam,
I forgot to thank you for the water that was in our room on the ship.
It came in handy when we went into town.
Also want to mention that you need to bring binoculars if you are going to Alaska and a good camera.
I also think that Princess can do a better job with the flights. Going out of Hartford to Toronto we were in a propeller plane. Only had two rows of seats, one on each side. Very noisy, loud and uncomfortable for 2 hours.
The flight from Toronto to Vancouver was not bad except that Air Canada charges for everything including luggage.
Delta flight from Fairbanks to Seattle was fine, but the flight fro Seattle to Detroit was bad. Will not do another "red eye" flight. It didn't leave until 11:35 at night. Delta also charges for checked luggage. No food was given on any flights. Air Canada was offering food for purchase.
These are things that you can tell your travelers so they can purchase food before their flights.
All things considered it was still a great trip!
